Federal Programs

Welcome to Federal Programs/Grants
 
The mission and responsibility of the Federal Programs is to procure, monitor and utilize federal funds for the following programs in order to provide quality federal educational opportunities in the Lorain City Schools:

ESEA (Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 as amended by the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001) Programs:
  • Title I, Part A: Provides supplemental instructional services in the core academic subject to students in grades PK-12.
  • Title II-A: Monies are provided to increase student achievement through enhancing the teacher and principal quality through professional development, recruitment, hiring and retention.         
  • Title III: Assists in teaching English to limited English proficient children and helping these students meet the same challenging standards of all students.             

All federally funded programs provide for participation of non-public schools.
