The Lorain City School District contracts school transportation through First Student. The number one goal of our transportation services department is to provide safe and efficient transportation for all students to and from school and school related activities.
The District also provides parents and students with tips for riding the school bus, bus stop safety and bus rider rules and regulations. Please take a moment to review these documents to help ensure safe transportation to and from school.

Lorain City Schools offers transportation based on State of Ohio funding guidelines and minimum transportation requirements.
State minimum transportation means a district intends to only transport those students in grades K-8 who reside more than 2.0 miles from school. With state minimum transportation, high school transportation does not have to be provided; however, a shuttle from the high school to a member vocational school is required. In addition, districts would still have an obligation to transport those students with special needs as identified in those students’ IEPs.
