Safety Town returns for 2022 | Registration open

LORAIN POLICE SAFETY TOWN 2022
Safety Town is located at Lorain High School, 2600 Ashland Avenue

In conjunction with the Lorain Police Department and the Lorain City Schools, Safety Town will be open for all children living in the city of Lorain entering kindergarten or 1st grade in the fall of 2022.

Our Safety Town program is a one-week course that is designed to teach your child safe practices both at school and at home.

The children are instructed on when, where, and how to cross the street, school bus safety, seat belt safety, fire safety, poison control, and how to handle strangers. Safety Town is conducted Monday through Thursday from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM and 12:30 PM to 3:00 PM. Safety Town sessions are scheduled for the weeks of June 13th, June 20th, June 27th, July 11th, and July 18th.

Current COVID-19 protocols will be in place, with class size limited for social distancing. Additional information will be provided closer to the session start date. Session dates will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. The registration form should be completed and returned to the Safety Town Coordinator, Robin Smith, as soon as possible. The classes are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis beginning with the Lorain City Schools registration. Please fill out the attached form and mail it to Ms. Robin Smith, 505 Allison Avenue, Lorain, Ohio 44052.

You will be contacted by e-mail or telephone by Robin before the start of Safety Town as to the date your child is to attend. Please check your e-mail. On your registration form, please select what week you would prefer your child to attend. Please also select a second choice so that if your first choice is filled we can place your child in the second/ next available opening.

Robin will only contact those parents who submit a registration form with a valid and working telephone number or valid email address. If you do not have a telephone number, we will need a telephone number of a person who we can contact. The Lorain Police Safety Town program is free of charge to all who attend. Additionally, for security purposes, only instructors and children will be allowed in the Safety Town classroom and course during the instruction periods.
