The Foundation of the Lorain Public Library System, Inc. campaigning for GivingTuesday donations

Lorain, OH – The Foundation of the Lorain Public Library System, Inc. is hoping to raise funds on Nov. 30 as it is “GivingTuesday.”

GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a day that encourages people to do good. This idea has grown into a global movement that inspires people to give, collaborate and celebrate generosity.

The Foundation’s goal is to encourage patrons to donate to Lorain Public Library System so the libraries can continue to do good in the communities in which they serve. In the past two years alone, this has included:

  • Creating two urban farms in locations where fresh produce is a novelty
  • Providing hotspots to students that had not home internet service
  • Assisting Lorain County Public Health in scheduling hundreds of COVID vaccination appointments for the public
  • Distributing free at-home COVID tests
  • The creation of a Culinary Literacy Center to provide programming for all generations on how to make healthy and nutritious choices
  • The installation of more StoryWalks to encourage exercise as well as literacy
  • The addition of Little Library on the Lake to provide athletic equipment and game that inspire being outdoors and active

Please consider donating to the Foundation on GivingTuesday. Together we can help the Lorain Public Library System to connect our communities to experiences that enrich, empower and inspire every day.
