What's in a Name?

longfellow portrait Longfellow Middle School opened in August of 2005 and replaced a middle school bearing the same name. The previous building opened in 1921 and was named for Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, a famous 19thCentury American poet who spent much of his life as a teacher and college professor.    “Song of Hiawatha,” and “The Children’s Hour” are some of Longfellow’s best known poems. Click here to listen to another well known Longfellow poem, "The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere."
