GET READY FOR THE FIRST DAY OF REMOTE LEARNING:

What you need to know for Tuesday, September 8 and beyond

GETTING STARTED

• STEP ONE: Log into your device

  • Turn on Computer or iPad

  • Make sure the device is plugged in so that it is charged.

  • Log in to device with the credentials listed on the sticker inside or on the device:

  • USERNAME = graduation year, first initial, last name

  • PASSWORD = first initial, last initial and last four digits of student number

• STEP TWO: Log into Clever

INSTRUCTIONS FOR GRADES PreK-3

1. Click on the Google Icon for the browser

2. Type clever.com into the address bar

3. Click on “Log in as a student"

4. Click on the icon for the Clever Badge login.

5. Hold your badge up to the camera on your device.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR GRADES 4-12

1. Click on the Google Icon for the browser

2. Type clever.com into the address bar

3. Click on “Log in as a student"

4. Type the name of your school in the "Log in - Search for your school" field

5. Click on the name of your building in the drop down list.

  6. Log in with Google credentials:

GOOGLE USERNAME = graduation year, first initial, last name @lorainschools.org

GOOGLE PASSWORD = first initial, last initial, 6 digit student number

• STEP 3: Logging into programs using Clever

Clever is a password locker - meaning that it will keep all of the passwords saved for each program so that you only have to log in once. Some programs work with Clever by automatically logging you in. Other programs work with Clever by requiring a password. Once the password is entered it will lock the password into the student account and they will not need to enter it again.

SIMPLE LOGIN

• Username = graduation year, first initial, last name

• Password = first initial, last initial, last 4 digits of student number

This is the username and password that is also on the sticker inside your computer.

GOOGLE LOGIN

• Username = graduation year, first initial, last name @lorainschools.org

• Passwords = first initial, last initial, 6 digit student number

Some apps are specific to teachers or departments and they will be able to provide you with the information for logging in.

• STEP 4: Join Google Classroom

Students should click on the Google Classroom icon in Clever to begin the instructional day.  Students will see classrooms to which they belong.  Students may need to click the "Join" button.  Students can also use the codes listed below to join classrooms.  

• STEP 5: Join Zoom meeting

Students should click on the Zoom meeting link found on the Stream page of their Google Classroom.  This is how they will receive live instruction from the teacher.  Every teacher will start the day with a morning meeting via the Zoom link.
