December 3, 2021 | The Lorain City Schools received notification by email late Friday afternoon that the district's Academic Improvement Plan has been approved by the Ohio Department of Education.

Pursuant to Ohio Revised Code?3302.103, state law requires the?state superintendent?of public instruction to?review revisions to each proposed academic achievement plan and?to?approve it within 30 days of receiving it.

"This is huge for us," shared Superintendent/CEO Dr. Jeff Graham. "I want to thank our students, staff, families and community for believing in our strategic plan, and for your partnership and collaboration that is making this pathway out from HB70 possible for our school district.

"I also want to thank our Board of Education for their steady leadership, and perhaps most importantly, their patience. A special shout to legislators Nathan Manning, Gayle Manning and Joe Miller for bringing Andrew Brenner up to Lorain to show the Senate what a special thing we have here in Lorain City Schools, and that we have the right people in place to move forward, together. This is a great day for Lorain."

A public version of the Academic Improvement Plan will be shared soon on the website, social media and in print. Next steps for the improvement process are detailed below.
