LORAIN — It was “fancy like Applebee’s” Wednesday at Stevan Dohanos Elementary School, where a group of Rising Titans dined on a special lunch after earning recognition as either the November or December students of the month.
The Rising Titans Lunch is for students who model kindness in the building. In return, students earn a catered lunch with a special guest, who could be a parent, relative, teacher, or even a special friend in the building. Wednesday’s lunch was Applebee’s, provided by the Applebee’s restaurant on Leavitt Road and supported by the Stevan Dohanos PTO.
So just what does it take to be a Stevan Dohanos Rising Titan?
You can be like third-grader Iris Torres, who according to her teacher, “completes all her work in a timely manner. She is kind, helpful, and polite to all students and adults.”
Even preschooler Jeremiah Ramos knows what it takes to be a Stevan Dohanos Rising Titan.
Jeremiah’s teacher said he “always offers to help a fellow classmate clean up. He also consistently offers to help clean up our classroom to keep our learning environment picked up and organized.”
First-grader Mason Coleman is on the right track. Mason is a “hard worker and very respectful.”
We salute each Stevan Dohanos Rising Titans, and we look forward to the next Rising Titans Lunch.
