Families should plan to attend a Lorain City Schools Parent Meeting set for 5:30-6:30 PM Tuesday, February 8, 2022, in the atrium of the Lorain High School auditorium.
Light refreshments will be served.
Topics for the meeting include plans to grow the Titan FAM committee and additional parent engagement opportunities, an upcoming Titan Fam event planned for the spring, a proposed parent summit, and Lorain City Schools' Federal Programs, including Title I and COVID funding.
The Titan Family Action Member (FAM) committee supports students, families, and the Lorain community by fostering engagement and participation in our schools. Just recently, Titan FAM worked with our schools to put on its first, annual district-wide event full of holiday fun. This came after the highly-successful TitanUp! Back to School event at Black River Landings this past summer.
Information about available Title I services will be part of the meeting. The public meeting will give parents, guardians, and other members of the community an opportunity to provide feedback on the district’s plan to utilize its Title I Improving Basic Programs, Title I Supplemental School Improvement, Title II-A Supporting Effective Instruction, Title III Language Instruction for English Learners, Title IV-A Student Support & Academic Enrichment, IDEA-B Special Education, IDEA Early Childhood Special Education, Expanding Opportunities for Each Child and ESSER funds
