BACK-TO-SCHOOL UPDATE | AUGUST 18

Hello, Titan Families!

As our summer days continue to dwindle, giving way to the start of the new school year, we're here to provide another back-to-school update with essential reminders to make this transition seamless and exciting.

WELCOME BACK STAFF | On August 21, our dedicated teachers and staff members return and will undoubtedly work their magic to breathe life back into our classrooms. The spaces will be adorned with color and personality, eagerly awaiting the return of our students on August 28.

FINALFORMS | A quick note about FinalForms: To ensure we have accurate and up-to-date information for each student, we ask that families complete any pending updates on FinalForms as soon as possible. This will streamline administrative processes and ensure that we have the most current contact details, emergency information, and medical records for your child. If you need help, visit lorainschools.org/Finalforms

IMMUNIZATIONS | As we gear up for the new academic year, remember to check that your child's immunization records are complete and current. Ensuring that our students are adequately immunized protects their health and contributes to a safer and healthier school environment for all. Lorain County Public Health is available to all families needing immunization support. Please call (440)283-4598 to make an appointment.

OPT IN FOR TEXT MESSAGES | Stay in the loop with important school updates, event reminders, and emergency notifications by opting in to receive our text messages. It's a convenient way to ensure you're always up-to-date and connected to the latest happenings within our school community. Simply opt-in by texting “Y” or “Yes” to 67587.

TRANSPORTATION | Busing is free to families for all students who live two miles or more from their home school.

Transportation letters to eligible families will be mailed after Friday, August 18. We will open our space available opportunities for students who live less than two miles from their home school in October, with a decision to be made by the district's Transportation Department, where space is available along an existing bus route.

All incoming 9th graders who live more than two miles from Lorain High School must complete the transportation request form available at www.lorainschools.org/RequestTransportation

ATTENDANCE | This year, we're placing special emphasis on attendance with our TitanUp! Attendance: You Belong Here campaign, supported by the Cleveland Browns Stay in the Game network. Consistent attendance is not just about meeting a requirement; it's about actively participating in the learning process, building strong relationships, and making the most of every educational opportunity. We encourage families to prioritize punctuality and ensure that students are at school on time every day. Let's work together to create a habit of attendance that sets our students up for success.
