BACK-TO-SCHOOL UPDATE | AUGUST 11

White and blue welcome back banner

Hi Titan families,

We can't believe that fewer than three weeks remain to summer break. Before you know it, buses will roll, and classrooms will be alive with learning.

Here is what you need to know this week to prepare your Titans for their first day.

FINALFORMS | If you are new or returning to Lorain City Schools, we ask that you update the emergency medical authorization, contact information, and required forms in our online system, FinalForms. Final Forms replaces the mountain of paperwork families receive the first week of school and allows you to update important information about your student from the comfort of your home.

Just go to lorainschools.org/finalforms to get started. (Hint: You will know you have completed all FinalForms updates when your forms box is green.)

IMMUNIZATIONS | Is your child's vaccinations up-to-date?

As we gear up for the new school year, we want to remind you of the essential requirements regarding your child's vaccinations. Ensuring the health and safety of all our students is very important, and having up-to-date immunizations is a crucial part of that effort.

To provide a safe and healthy environment for all students and staff, we must adhere to the guidelines set forth by our board policy regarding immunizations. This not only safeguards the health and well-being of your child but also contributes to the overall well-being of our school community.

In accordance with school board policy, students who have yet to receive the required immunizations will be excluded from attending school as of September 18. We understand that sometimes circumstances can make keeping track of these requirements challenging, but we are committed to enforcing these measures in the best interest of all our students.

Lorain County Public Health provides a convenient solution for obtaining the necessary vaccinations. They offer appointments for vaccinations at their facility, and it's worth noting that no child is turned away due to an inability to pay. This ensures that every child can access the required immunizations, regardless of financial constraints. Please call (440)284-3206 to schedule an appointment.

OPEN HOUSE | We are planning fun-filled open houses at your child's school. Open house is a great way to meet your child's teachers, see their school, and learn more about the upcoming school year.

We can't wait to see you, and remember, the first day of school is August 28.
