Greetings Southview Middle School Families and Community!
If we did not realize it already, we know now that winter is here! We have about 2 weeks until winter break, with our last day on Friday December 18th, the end of the 2nd grading period. This unique and challenging school year is going by fast! It seems like we were just distributing laptops from our gym to our families in the parking lot in the blazing sun, and now we are preparing for the holidays and how to conduct them in the safest manner possible.
Similarly, the week of January 11th, we are anticipating welcoming in the safest manner possible, students back to our building 2 days a week for those families that choose or continue to offer full-time remote learning for those that would like to remain with that option. Students that attend hybrid will attend school 2 days a week and the remaining 3 days will consist of on-line learning.
• 2 Students from each grade level will be recognized for December Student of the Month. Our November Students of the Month each received a certificate, their nomination from their teacher, and a yard sign. We were able to purchase the signs after receiving an anonymous donation from a community supporter of our school district.
• Our BLT/PBIS Committees coordinated our 1st grading period Virtual Student Awards. We awarded 191 students for academic and behavior performances! You may view the ceremony here: Awards Assembly 11_13_2020.mp4 - Google Drive
