The Lorain City Schools and Head Start Collaborative Through the LCCAA is Ending
Lorain City Schools and the Head Start Collaborative through the Lorain County Community Action Agency (LCCAA) have enjoyed a strong and healthy partnership for many years, with Lorain children and families as the top priority. Unfortunately, as a result of their limited resources, beginning in the fall of 2023, Head Start has decided to end our partnership.
The Central Plaza program in downtown Lorain will end no later than April 3, 2023, while the Head Start programs in our elementary programs will end on July 31, 2023. We will be working closely with the families of the children currently being served at Central Plaza to ensure their education is not impacted.
We are incredibly proud of the great work we have done over the years and are excited about the new opportunities we will create in Lorain Schools for our preschool program. This decision allows us the opportunity to engage with our families and staff to build on the districtwide preschool programs.
Lorain Schools and staff are committed to continuing to provide free, high-quality preschool programs to young children while ensuring it’s accessible to every family in Lorain. Our team is experienced, highly qualified, and passionate about early childhood education. We will continue to focus on the growth, development, health, and well-being of every child we serve.
