Did you know that when we returned to school this year, we entered a period we are excited to call "95% for 95 Days?"

We are pushing for 95% school attendance for all students until June 6, 2024.

Every school day is a building block in the foundation of our students' success. Students gain valuable knowledge, skills, and experiences that prepare them for the next chapter in their lives by attending school consistently.

That's why we are on a mission to achieve 95% attendance for the remainder of the school year. Each day counts, and your child's consistent presence in the classroom will contribute to their academic achievements and personal growth.

So don't be surprised if you see our buildings pushing our students a little harder to get to school, creating an environment where every student feels motivated to show up every day, and finding ways to celebrate our attendance warriors -- like at Admiral King Elementary School, where students have a Dawg-gone good time getting to school.

Yes, with our Cleveland Browns set to take on the Houston Texans on Saturday, we have been in the team spirit this week thanks to our partners at the Stay in the Game! Attendance Network.

We are happy to announce that QUICKmed Urgent Care is ready to see patients at our clinic at Washington Elementary School, 1025 W. 23rd Street, Lorain.

Having a school-based clinic means our students can access high-quality health care during the school day. Lorain Schools will provide transportation to and from their school so Katie Malear, CNP, can see students during office hours, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

QUICKmed can treat illnesses and injuries and help manage chronic conditions. It also offers services to keep your child healthy, such as well-child visits, immunizations, and physicals for school, sports, and camp.

Join us in celebrating this year's exhibitors. Student artwork will be displayed at the Beth K. Stocker Art Gallery at Lorain County Community College through Thursday, February 15, 2024.
