PRINCIPAL DUGAN

Jessica Dugan has been an educator for 15 years.  She has worked for New York City Public Schools, Uncommon Schools, and Fairfax County Public Schools. As an Intervention Coach in Virginia, Jessica formalized a Response to Intervention (RTI) framework to support the turnaround process at Saratoga Elementary School. This work helped lead the school to full accreditation for the first time in four years.

Jessica has co-taught classes on teaching students with exceptionalities at George Mason University (GMU) in Fairfax, Virginia. In addition, she presented at the 2018 National Professional Development Schools (NAPDS) Conference in Jacksonville, Florida on building culturally responsive partnerships in schools and working effectively with teacher candidates to prepare them to teach in schools in urban communities.

Jessica believes in the immense potential of all children and is committed to leading learning at Washington Elementary by working alongside teachers to design engaging, standards-based instruction and use data to drive instructional decisions.
