The Honorable Mark Mihok

Mark J. Mihok is a 1972 graduate of Admiral King High School. During his years at Admiral King, Mark built the foundation for a life of public service, marching with the school's band for three years and volunteering at basketball games — early expressions of the community spirit that would define his career. Among his fondest memories of Lorain are the lifelong friendships forged during those formative years. 

After graduating, Mark earned a Bachelor of Arts through the Honors Program at Ohio State University before completing his Juris Doctor at Case Western Reserve University School of Law. His legal credentials earned him admission to practice before all Ohio Courts, multiple federal district courts, the U.S. Sixth District Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. 

Mark's legal career was rooted in public service in Lorain. He began as an Assistant Prosecutor for the Lorain City Law Department, later served as Special Counsel for the Ohio Attorney General's Office, and held several key city roles including Safety Director, Service Director, and Personnel Administrator. In 2002, he was elected Judge of the Lorain Municipal Court, a position he held with distinction for 24 years until his retirement in December 2025. As Judge, he pioneered a specialized Housing Court docket to streamline building code enforcement, and modernized court operations by introducing virtual hearings and call-in waiver systems during the pandemic. 

Beyond the bench, Mark served as President of the Lorain Kiwanis, coached American Legion Post 30 Baseball, and held leadership roles at Zion Lutheran Church, the United Way of Lorain County, and several other community organizations. He was named Outstanding Young Man of the Year by the U.S. Jaycees in 1982. Mark and his wife Kathryn, married since 1986, are the proud parents of two children, Erin and Jack, and continue to call Lorain home.
