Dr. Thomas J. Weber

Tom Weber graduated from Lorain Catholic in 1990 and was involved in Student Government, Key Club, Academic Challenge, Football, and Baseball and was on the Dean’s List. After graduation, he went on to graduate from The Ohio State University with a BS in Human Nutrition. 

His passion for helping others and medicine led him to the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Missouri, where he earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine. He also completed a fellowship in Pain Medicine at Wake Forest University. He went on to complete an internship at the Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center and achieved his board certification through the Walter Reed/Bethesda Naval Hospital. 

As a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army, his work in the military is distinguished by his extensive work with U. S. Special Operations Forces. While in Baghdad, he was elected Chief of Anesthesiology, serving as a vital combat support physician on the front lines. Upon returning home, he established the first pain management clinic at Fort Bragg, providing critical care to active duty soldiers and their families. 

He then transitioned to the Duke Raleigh Hospital as the Medical Director of Pain Medicine Services where he successfully launched the pain clinic for Duke Neurosurgery, thus treating thousands of patients. He went on to found Midtown Pain and Spine, where he dedicates his practice to helping patients overcome chronic pain and lie fulfilling lives. 

He remains a constant supporter of veteran causes, spinal cord injury associations and community initiatives. 

For his extraordinary courage on the battlefield, his leadership in military medicine and his contributions to the field of pain management, we welcome Dr. Thomas Weber to the Lorain Schools Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame!
