    Dear New Beginnings Academy Community,

The 2017-18 school year will be my 4th as New Beginnings Academy Principal. Our staff met at the conclusion of the school year to reflect on our successes and areas needing refinement. We are looking forward to continuing to implement the recommendations from our program review provided by the National Dropout Prevention Center Network at Clemson University. We are proud to announce that we had 30 graduates this past school year! We will continue to cultivate a climate conducive to learning for the “non-traditional”, “at-risk”, and or “at-promise” student, spearheaded by our newly implemented “Student Leadership” group that provides opportunities for students to attend educationally enriching field trips, and form meaningful relationships with community partners ensuring each student at our school has the opportunity to be “Up Next!”

Congratulations to the Class of 2017! It is our hope that the lessons learned and the experiences lived at New Beginnings have laid the foundations for future successes. For those students that are returning, make sure to relax and get plenty of rest in order to be prepared for August. If you have any questions, please email me at pwilliams@loraincsd.org. I have found that texting to this address works as well.

For the 2016-2017 school year, we had a record number of students that not only graduated, but had attained Level 2, Level 3, and Level 4 status. Many of our parents, and friends have attended our Level Ceremonies celebrating student attendance, academics, and behavior achievement and progress. Our June ceremony honored 27 students!

Our students’ growth is a result of the efforts of our staff and the support from our community partners including Mercy Regional Medical Center, Lorain County Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services, Inc. (LCADA), Cornerstone, NAACP, Urban Minority Alcoholism Drug Abuse Outreach Project, (UMADAOP), 100 Men of Lorain County, Nancy Lowrie and Associates, and Church of the Open Door.

Please check our webpage, for informational updates at www.lorainschools.org. Please inform the Lorain Administration Center of any changes to your address and or phone number. This is vital in order to communicate with you the great things that are happening in our school and district.

    Have a Great Summer!

    Paul M. Williams
