Post-Secondary Enrollment Options (PSEO) are available for any student who qualifies for the program. The program offers students an opportunity to earn college credit and high school credit at the same time. Requirements vary depending on the college or university selected. Lorain County Community College, in partnership with Lorain City Schools, has a sliding grade point scale for students.
- 12thGrade – 3.0 GPA
- 11thGrade – 3.5 GPA
- 10thGrade – 3.7 GPA
- 9thGrade – 3.9 GPA
In addition, the state requires that the student have at least a 3.0 GPA in the subject area of the course. The student must also take and pass the college qualifying test for the institution. This may be the ACT, SAT, or, in the case of LCCC, the COMPASS tests. Students and parents should contact the guidance counselors for more information.
