|Longfellow Middle School is located at 305 Louisiana Avenue. Longfellow offers an accelerated learning program that challenges students to reach their greatest potential and is also the home of the NASA Lab. Classes begin at 8:50 am and end at 3:30 pm. Longfellow Middle School opened in August of 2005 and replaced a middle school bearing the same name. The previous building opened in 1921 and was named for Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, a famous 19thCentury American poet. “The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere,” “Song of Hiawatha,” and “The Children’s Hour” are some of Longfellow’s best known poems. Longfellow Middle School was built to house 600 students for an investment of $12.5 million, of which nearly 80% came from the state of Ohio.
