The Lorain High School Esports team is headed to the state tournament after a commanding performance at the Esports Ohio Regional LAN Tournament, hosted at Baldwin Wallace University on Sunday, April 6.

Competing in the game Valorant, the Titans entered the tournament as the No. 1 seed and lived up to their top billing. After earning a first-round bye, Lorain swept Brecksville-Broadview Heights in the semifinals with scores of 13-6 and 13-0—the latter a flawless victory. In the Regional Final, the team continued their winning streak, defeating New Tech West 13-5 and 13-7 to clinch the regional title.

Their dominant showing earned the Titans a spot at the upcoming OHSAA State Tournament, which will be held the weekend of April 26 at the University of Akron. The top eight teams in Ohio will face off for the chance to bring home a state championship.

The team is coached by Seth Litman, who has helped guide the program to new heights in competitive gaming. Esports is one of the fastest-growing extracurriculars at Lorain High School, giving students an opportunity to develop skills in strategy, communication and teamwork—all while competing at the highest level.

As the Titans prepare for the State Tournament, the Lorain community is rallying behind them. Good luck, Titans!
