Update on Second Meal Options | August 15, 2026

We know that access to nutritious meals is incredibly important to our students and families, and we understand that many of the families we serve rely on school meals each day.

After careful consideration, Lorain City Schools will not be able to offer second meal options during the 2026-2027 school year.

We recognize that this is a difficult change, and it was not a decision made lightly. As we work within our available resources, we must make difficult choices to ensure we can continue providing nutritious meals and essential services to our students throughout the school year.

We are grateful for your understanding and for the trust you place in Lorain City Schools to care for your children each day.
