Lorain Schools Receives $5,000 Grant from American Legion Post 30

The American Legion Post 30 has awarded Lorain City Schools a $5,000 grant to support school counseling programs in the district's 14 buildings.

This generous funding will enhance the vital work of school counselors who serve students through various support services and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) initiatives.

"Our counseling team plays an essential role in creating supportive learning environments where students can thrive," said Director of Wraparound Services Dr. Stephen Sturgill. "This grant from the American Legion will help strengthen these crucial services that impact students across our schools."

School counselors work daily to provide academic guidance, emotional support, and behavioral interventions that help students succeed in and out of the classroom. The funding will support PBIS strategies, which create positive school cultures and promote student well-being throughout the district.

The American Legion Post 30's commitment to supporting local education continues to make a meaningful difference in the community. It helps ensure that students have access to the resources and support they need to reach their full potential.
