Lorain City Schools Social Media Policies and Guidelines
Titans,
Lorain City Schools uses its social media platforms to share district updates, celebrate our amazing students, and engage with our community in a positive and respectful way.
In accordance with Board Policy 7544, our social media accounts are designated as limited public forums for these purposes.
To ensure a safe and productive environment for everyone, especially our students, we ask that all users follow these guidelines:
- Keep it respectful. Disagreements are welcome, but personal attacks, name-calling, defamatory statements, or harassment will not be tolerated.
- No threats or harmful language. Comments that include threats, intimidation, hate speech, or abusive language will be removed and may be reported to the appropriate authorities.
- Stay on topic. Comments should relate to district updates, programs, or policies, not target individuals.
- Protect student privacy and safety. Do not attempt to identify, target, or engage directly with students in any harmful or inappropriate manner. Posting confidential information about students or staff is strictly prohibited.
Lorain City Schools reserves the right to hide or remove comments and block users who violate these guidelines in order to protect the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and community. All moderation is conducted in a viewpoint-neutral manner consistent with board policy.
As a school district, the expectations set by our board policies extend to our digital spaces. We are sharing our board-approved policies below to ensure everyone is aware and shows up in our digital spaces accordingly.
