Lorain City Schools Announces Free Summer Meals Program for Children and Teens
JUNE 5, 2026 | LORAIN, Ohio — Lorain City Schools is once again ensuring that children throughout the community have access to healthy meals during the summer months through its annual Summer Food Service Program.
Beginning Monday, June 8, free breakfast and lunch meals will be available to all children and teens ages 18 and younger, regardless of household income. No registration is required.
Meals will be served at two convenient options throughout the summer:
Lorain High School Cafeteria
- 2600 Ashland Avenue, Lorain
- Monday through Friday
- Breakfast: 8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.
- Lunch: 12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Lorain Food Bus
The Lorain Food Bus will travel to neighborhoods throughout the city to make nutritious meals more accessible for families.
Lunch Service: 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
- Mondays – Falbo Park
- Tuesdays – Larkmoor Elementary School (parking lot)
- Wednesdays – Campana Park
- Thursdays – Central Park
- Fridays – Lakeview Park South
Additional Daily Stop
- Oakwood Park (pool area)
- Monday through Friday
- 2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
“Our goal is to ensure every child in Lorain has access to nutritious meals throughout the summer months,” the district shared. “We encourage families to take advantage of this free program and help spread the word to neighbors, friends, and loved ones.”
In addition to free meals, students visiting the Food Bus can participate in special themed activities throughout the summer, including:
June 8 – Bus Kickoff Day (Free Face Painting)
June 16 – Bubble Day
June 24 – Hawaiian Day
July 2 – Patriotic Sunglasses Day
July 10 – Ace Mascot Day
The Summer Food Service Program will run through August 7, 2026.
