Summer Break has officially arrived, bringing warmer weather, family adventures, well-deserved relaxation, and opportunities to make lasting memories.
Although our hallways may be quieter for the season, the Titan spirit never takes a vacation!
Throughout the summer months, Lorain City Schools will continue offering programs, camps, meals, enrichment opportunities, and community resources designed to keep our students learning, growing, and thriving.
Whether you're exploring a new summer camp, participating in one of our district programs, or simply looking for helpful resources for your family, we're here to support you every step of the way.

IMPORTANT 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR SCHEDULE UPDATE
Lorain City Schools will implement several schedule adjustments for next school year.
✅ All Day Preschool
No changes to preschool start or dismissal times.
✅ Elementary Schools
No changes to elementary start or dismissal times.
✅ Middle Schools
First period will now begin at 8:50 a.m.
Dismissal will remain at 3:30 p.m.
✅ Lorain High School
Instructional periods will increase from 50 to 55 minutes. As a result, the LHS school day will begin at 7:07 a.m. and end at 2:30 p.m.
These changes are necessary to align with contractual requirements, support our financial recovery plan, and continue providing strong instructional opportunities for students.
We understand schedule adjustments impact family routines and appreciate your continued support and flexibility as we prepare for the 2026-2027 school year.
More information will be shared with families as we get closer to the start of school.

Lorain City Schools is proud to announce Roshelle Dewey as the inaugural Director of our new Frank Jacinto School of Autism, launching in the 2026-2027 school year!
Designed specifically for students with the highest levels of need, the School of Autism will provide individualized instruction, sensory-conscious spaces, therapeutic support, and opportunities for every student to thrive.
With more than 20 years of educational leadership experience, Dewey will lead this groundbreaking new chapter of support, inclusion, and excellence for our students and families.

Is your child getting ready for Kindergarten this fall? Give them a fun, confident start with our FREE full-day Kindergarten Readiness Summer Camp!
Designed for preschool-age students, this exciting summer experience helps children smoothly transition into the kindergarten classroom through hands-on learning, play, and engaging activities.
Students Will Learn:
- Early reading and letter recognition
- Basic math skills like counting, numbers, and shapes
- Classroom routines and social skills
- Confidence-building and following directions
- Learning through play and exploration
