Transportation

Lorain City Schools provides busing services that are overseen by dedicated professionals who prioritize the safety and security of our students while they travel to and from their destinations. We strive to offer safe and efficient transportation for eligible students attending school or participating in school-related activities.

ELIGIBILITY

Lorain City Schools strives to be efficient and respectful with taxpayer dollars by providing busing services to students in grades K-12 who reside beyond 2.0 miles from school and/or who have special needs identified through an Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

EXCEPTIONS

Families who reside within 2 miles of their child's home school may submit a request to the Lorain City Schools Board of Education for transportation where space is available along an existing bus route.

SAFETY ABOVE ALL ELSE

Lorain City Schools believes that by working with our families, we can educate students about safe practices and procedures to help ensure safe transportation to and from school.

Families are also asked to review bus stop safety tips with their students.
