Welcome to Lorain City Schools. This year, we are excited to celebrate our successes, growth, and the amazing work happening in our district! September 30 to October 4 is a special week planned to bring together students, staff, volunteers, partners, and the entire Lorain community to honor the achievements that make our schools shine.

With 12 compelling reasons why Lorain City Schools is the best choice for your child, we're proud to showcase everything that makes us unique.

Now is the perfect time for our alumni to come home and reconnect, our families to tour our schools, and our community to come together for a fun-filled celebration!

WEDNESDAY: Celebrate our students
THURSDAY: Celebrate volunteers, partners, and families. Join us for the CELEBRATE LORAIN CITY SCHOOLS BASH ON THURSDAY EVENING. 
FRIDAY: Celebrate your staff
Friday evening, our homecoming parade will include students from each school building. Then, we will cheer on our Titan football team, cheerleaders, marching band, and dancers at the homecoming game!

FREE DRIVER’S EDUCATION | We believe all students should have the opportunity to gain essential life skills and have affordable access to transportation.

FREE AWARD-WINNING PRESCHOOLS | We believe in early childhood education close to home, with free preschool in all 10 of our elementary schools with the highest rating from the Ohio Department of Education.

ALL-DAY KINDERGARTEN | We are the only local district offering all students a free, full-day kindergarten program designed to challenge young minds.

PRE-K TO 12 FINE & PERFORMING ARTS | We invest in fine arts education by offering theatre and dance at all schools; more painting and ceramics; digital arts pathway at the high school; and more choir and instrument exploration, including piano and ukulele.

ACCREDITED EARLY COLLEGE PROGRAM AND 15 CAREER-TECHNICAL EDUCATION PROGRAMS | Our students are afforded robust opportunities to earn college credit and in-demand industry credentials to jumpstart their careers right on our high school campus.

YOUNG SCHOLARS PROGRAM | We are the only district in Lorain County with this rigorous college preparatory program, which provides generous scholarships to The Ohio State University for eligible students.

EXPANDED ROBOTICS & PRE-K TO 12 STEM PROGRAMMING | All students have access to engaging, hands-on classroom environments with tiered instruction in Project Lead the Way and VEX Robotics that empower them to develop in-demand skills needed to thrive.
