Expanded Busing

Lorain City Schools will expand transportation services to all students who live more than 2.0 miles from school, regardless of grade, starting with the 2022-2023 school year.
When students return to Lorain City Schools in August, hundreds more will be eligible for free, reliable bus transportation from the district’s transportation partners at Auxilio. Lorain City Schools strives to be efficient and respectful with taxpayer dollars by providing busing services to students, now expanding eligibility to include students in grades K-12 who reside beyond 2.0 miles from school and/or who have special needs identified through an Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
We have established 17 bus stops around the city that will be used for morning and afternoon pick-up and drop-off for our high school students. This will allow high school students who live two or more miles away from Lorain High to catch a bus close to home on a consistent schedule that will get students to school on time every day.

We want to alleviate some of the stress of transportation for our families, and we hope this helps.

To see a complete list of bus stops and request transportation for your high school student, visit Families will need to fill out the request form and return it to the district's Transportation Department.

Traversa Ride 360

Lorain City Schools uses the Traversa Ride 360 platform, available to families as an app that can be downloaded from the Apple and Google Play stores, to provide families with up-to-date transportation information.
We encourage all adults to download the Ride 360 app to get busing information for their students. If student information isn’t in Ride 360, they are not currently routed for district transportation services.
Ride 360 lets families know immediately when there has been a change in pick-up and drop-off times.
