2020 Virtual Summer Reading Program

Update for Tuesday, July 21st

Hello Titan Families,

We hope your student is enjoying our virtual summer reading program.  We wanted to give you a little heads up about what is coming up this week.

WEDNESDAY (7/22) We will be having students log-into their reading resource, Wonders 2020, via their ClassLink account (Icon on desktop). This may require a little adult assistance due to the possible need to download the ClassLink Extension for Google Chrome.  Students will then be able to log-in to play educational games that are based on the lessons the teachers are presenting.

THURSDAY (7/23) Students will be taking their Redbird Course Placement.  This is a short assessment of your student’s current reading level.  The assessment should take between 5-15mins.  We will have students stay on their class Zoom meeting but take the assessment individually in a new tab.  Students should work independently on Redbird.

Redbird is adaptive and is always assessing your student’s understanding of the content being presented. This means that the program learns about your student based on their performance and their patterns of responses. When your student works independently, they will receive the right amount of instruction and practice delivered at just the right time.

We thank you for supporting your student as we navigate through this new approach to learning.

Our laptop/hotspot drive-thru return is scheduled for Thursday, July 30 from 12pm-3:30 at LHS.  Students will receive 5+ additional books and supplies that were unavailable at the time of pickup.
