Montessori programs are based on the work of Dr. Maria Montessori who believed that young children could learn to read, write, and calculate by doing. Children learn at their own pace and according to their own interests, using the environment. They follow adefinite plan using concrete materials, forming and reading written words, applying mathematical symbols and formulas, and understanding the concept of why and how. All tradtional subjects are integrated into the curriculum.
